It was celebration galore yesterday as the Chairman, Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, (OSOPADEC), Sam Erejuwa, joined eminent personalities and dignitaries from Ilaje and across the globe to celebrate the 13th Coronation Anniversary of the Paramount Ruler and Prescribed Authority of Ugbo land, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Fredrick Enitiolorunda Obateru Akinruntan CON, F.ICA, FNIM, Okoro Ajiga 1, the Olugbo of Ugbo.

At the palace of the respected monarch, Erejuwa on behalf of the Board, Management and Staff of the Commission paid homage to Oba Akinruntan, wishing him more years of lofty achievements and immeasurable prosperity on the throne of his fathers.

Erejuwa assured that the Commission under his leadership will not relent in its efforts to bring monumental development to Ilaje Land. He said in no distant time, key abandoned projects including the Omuro International Market, Ugbo, the Ugbonla – Ayetoro road and the erstwhile Skill Acquisition Centre in Ugbonla, recently converted to the School of Maritime Transport and Logistics, Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa will be completed and commissioned for public use.

He assured that the contractors handling the projects will be mobilized to site within the next couple of months. And when completed, the Omuro International Market will be named after Oba Fredrick Akinruntan in recognition of his leadership and unequaled charisma which has brought sustainable peace and progress to Ugboland and Ilaje in general.

Responding, Oba (Dr.) Akinruntan expressed deep gratitude to Erejuwa, the Board and the entire Management of OSOPADEC for the landmark achievements so far recorded within the spate of nine months in which the Board was inaugurated. He said the Commission’s projects which are spread across the various axes of Ilaje are commendable and would be impactful when completed. He prayed for more wisdom and good health to enable the Chairman achieve his desired dream for the mandate areas.

Flanked by the Amapetu of Mahin, His Imperial Majesty , Oba Williams Olusegun Akinyomi, Oba (Dr.) Akinruntan charged the sons and daughters of the Ilaje nation to remain united, focused and determined.

“The Ilajes are known for being resolute, peaceful, hardworking and responsible. If we remain united, our children will attain greater heights and our land will experience remarkable development”, he said.
