OSOPADEC Chairman, Elder Sam Erejuwa has pledged that the totality of his life will remain dedicated to the service God, the advancement of the gospel and the well-being of humanity.
Erejuwa said this while receiving an award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the spiritual growth and physical development of St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Mahintedo in Ilaje Local Government on Saturday 17th June.
The event was to commemorate the Church’s 2023 St. Barnabas’ Day Patronal Roll of Honour.
The epochal event also featured the presentation of different categories of Awards to eminent Ilaje sons and daughters in recognition of their passionate and selfless contributions to the overall development of the Church.
Acting Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa, represented by the Chairman of Ilaje Local Government, Hon. Goke Jatuase, Chief Olusola Alexander Oke (SAN), Hon. Gbenga Edema (NDDC Commissioner, Representing Ondo State), Hon. Mrs. Wumi Fayemi (MHA, Ilaje Constituency II), Hon. Raphael Adegboye, OSOPADEC Commissioner and Hon. Oluyide Mekuleyi, former OSOPADEC Commissioner were amongst the distinguished personalities Awarded.
In his sermon, the Vicar of the Church, Rev’d Canon Benjamin Olaniyi Ogunjimi appreciated God for making the day a reality, for his goodness and mercy on his members and all invited guests who graced the occasion with their esteemed presence.
While Congratulating the Awardees, the clergyman stressed the benefits inherent in making physical and financial contributions toward the service of God – Our maker.
He enjoined the recipients to use the award to impart more on the work of God.
Elder Sam Erejuwa appreciated the Vicar and the entire members of the church for the recognition; assuring that he will not relent in his service to God and the expansion of HIS work.
According to him: “It is my Joy and a great privilege to be here today. I had to cancel other conflicting events, not for the Award, but because the service of God and progress of HIS work must take preeminence over other engagements”.
Erejuwa who was joined by his personal aides, the Director, Administration & Supplies, Barrister Bayo Ololajulo and Director of Accounts, Pastor Vincent Ikuomola together with Deputy Directors and other Staff of the Commission later donated towards the advancement of the Gospel of God in the Church, and in the Anglican Communion.
