OSOPADEC Chairman, Elder Sam Erejuwa has commended the President Tinubu led government for its lofty plans toward the development of the country’s oil producing States.
Erejuwa handed down this commendation in Akure on Thursday, when he joined the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Hon. Abubakar Momoh, the Permanent Secretary, Dr Shuaib Belgore and other Management staff, to inspect some of the Ministry’s projects in the State.
The visit was part of the inspection tour of the recently appointed honourable Minister to the country’s nine oil producing States. The States include: Abia, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Edo, Imo, Ondo and Rivers.
While paying a courtesy visit to the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi in his palace, the Minister disclosed that the President Tinubu led administration has great plans for the Niger Delta States, warning contractors handling projects in different States across the regions against executing substandard projects.
According to him: “the present administration under President Bola Tinubu, would do many positive things in the Niger Delta. The change we are bringing is to make sure quality projects are delivered in the Niger Delta.
“Roads will be constructed to standard and specification and not constructing infrastructure that will wear away very soon. By the time we start to execute our empowerment programme, the youths will be happy.
“There is a huge gap between the rich and poor. The President wants to put an end to poverty and infrastructure decay. He is committed to providing infrastructure. All the nine States under our supervision will be taken care of.”
The Minister assured that the planned empowerment program of the President Bola Tinubu government will bring positive transformation to the lives of the youths across the region, empower them for self reliance and curb their restiveness.
Responding, Oba Aladelusi, applauded the Minister for personally visiting the Niger Delta to know the needs of the people and to inspect ongoing projects. This he said portrayed meticulousness and determination to succeed.
While commending the government for its plan to empower the youths and develop Ondo State, Oba Aladelusi urged the Minister to ensure the completion of all on-going projects as well as the execution of new ones.
Speaking with OSOPADEC correspondents after the tour, OSOPADEC Chairman, Sam Erejuwa, who also represented the State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON, commended President Bola Tinubu for his vision and plan to develop the Niger Delta region of Nigeria, and for the empowerment programs for the teaming youths.
Erejuwa, on behalf of the Governor assured that the government will not relent in its efforts to make the State peaceful and secured as this would make the Federal Government initiatives a huge success. He however charged the Federal Government, through the Ministry of Niger Delta, the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and other relevant agencies to ensure the people of Ondo State, and especially those in the oil producing communities feel the presence of the government more, through the execution of more projects, empowerments and human capital development.
