OSOPADEC Chairman, Sam Erejuwa on Thursday 7th September presented 15 units of HP Laptops to the Account Department and Audit Unit of the Commission in a bid to digitalized the accounting system, thereby creating new values and approach.
The initiative will also facilitate and boost productivity, ensure transparency, engendered E-governance and build capacity for the workforce to function in line with global practice.
While presenting the gadgets to the beneficiaries, Erejuwa assured that the equipment will boost optimal performance and assist the staff of the interventionist agency to effectively deliver on the Commission’s corporate mandate.
According to him “The purchase and distribution of the 15 HP Laptops to the concerned departments and units (Accounts and Audit) is to facilitate E-governance and keep pace with global best practice as this will boost productivity and ensure transparency. The 21st century accounting system has gone past manual computation and figuring; we cannot continue to do the same thing, the same way and expect different result.”
Speaking on behalf of the recipients, Head of ICT unit, Mrs Remi Araulene appreciated the Chairman of the Commission for his kind gesture, promising that the beneficiaries, (together with other staff of the Commission) will make good use of the gadgets in ensuring that the vision and mission of the Commission is accomplished.
Presenting one of the units of the gadget to His Imperial Majesty, Oba Professor Sunday Adedimula Amuseghan, the Kalasuwe of Apoi Land who paid him a courtesy visit in his office, the Chairman appreciated the traditional ruler on his role in providing institutional safety between his subjects and the Commission’s contractors, most especially on the construction of Igbotu township road.
He assured the Royal Father that his administration would not relent in its determination to bring monumental development to the mandate areas.
In his reaction, the Kabiyesi appreciated the Chairman for his generosity as the computer according to him will aid his academic works, researches and tutoring.
