Chairman, Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), Sam Erejuwa today felicitated with Accountants practicing their profession in the Commission as the world celebrates International Accounting Day.

While receiving the Accountants in his office, Erejuwa appreciated them for their impactful contributions to the growth and development of the Commission.

Erejuwa who expressed his high esteem for the Accountants assured that he will not be weary in providing them with a serene and comfortable environment to practice their chosen profession.

He urged them to remain committed to their official duties and abide by the tenets of their profession and practice in line with international best practice.

In a chat with our correspondent on the significance of the day after the meeting, Prince Femi Dabo PhD disclosed that it is a day Accountants all over the world come together to celebrate their profession.

According to him, “there are Accountants in both public and private organisations. We play critical roles in every sector of the economy. We the Accountants in OSOPADEC are happy to belong to this noble profession and to be part of the celebration. Some of our external auditors and consultants are also here to celebrate with us”.

November 10 of every year is a day set aside to celebrate members of the profession for their contributions to the various sectors of the economy. The celebration is also aimed at inspiring those intending to explore the opportunities of the profession and to remind practitioners of International Accounting Standards.

International Accounting Day was first observed in 1972 to recognize and celebrate the significant roles of Accountants across the world.

In attendance were Accountants from various Departments in the Commission amongst who were: Pastor Vincent Ikuomola FCA, Mr. Frank Menukuro, CPA, FCCA, Alhaji Fatai Balogun ACA, Mr. Julius Babatunde ACA, Mr. Tokunbo Idowu, CNA, Alhaji Abdul Nosiru, ACA, Alhaji Omorisa Adesina, Mr. Odunayo Ajakaye, CNA, Prince Femi Dabo, CPA, FCNA, ACTI, PhD.

Others were: Mrs Omomofe Osebiose, CNA, Mrs Precious Akinwumi, CNA, Miss Mary Adedeji and Mrs Grace Akosile CNA.
