OSOPADEC Sponsors 112 Girls from Mandate Areas in Solar, ICT Training

The BEMORE Summer Boot Camp 2018, a two-week programme aimed at training 400 Schoolgirls in Solar, ICT and other life changing skills, organized by the Office of the Wife of the Governor in collaboration with the BEMORE Empowered Foundation, kicked off yesterday with an opening ceremony which was held at the Public Service Training Institute (PSTI), Ilara-mokin in Akure.

The Chairman of OSOPADEC, Hon. (Barr.) Olugbenga Edema, while delivering his goodwill message, appreciated the First Lady of Ondo State for her effort and passion in the development of the girl child and also for the opportunity accorded the Commission to be a part of the laudable project. He charged the new entrants to make the best use of the opportunity given them and to ensure they make their stay at the camp worth the while.

Delivering the Opening address, the Convener and Wife of the Governor of Ondo State, Arabinrin Betty Anyanwu- Akeredolu praised the Board and Management of the Commission for aligning with the vision to empower schoolgirls from the Commission’s Mandate areas (Ilaje and Ese-Odo) in the field of Science and Technology and also for the robust sponsorship of OSOPADEC towards the Programme.

In her words “Without a time machine, you have gone ahead of time to change what the future holds for these girls”.

Also in attendance were; Hon. Olumide Ikuepenikan, Member on the Board of OSOPADEC, Mr. Wale Mafolabomi, Director Community Welfare, OSOPADEC, and other top Government functionaries.
