The ongoing township road construction in Igbotu, Ese-Odo Local Government Area by the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC) is swiftly progressing with more supply of sufficient materials on the site.
This was revealed from the progress report received from the Commission’s Project Department on 27th November, 2022 which indicated a completion of 970m drains (485m on the right hand side and 485m on the left hand side). The first and second culverts measuring at 8m x 1.25m x 0.85m and 8.5m x 1.25m x 0.85 are also fully completed with headwall.
A cue from the report indicates that the 2nd culvert will reach the 21days curing period before the earthworks for Road A can start taking shape. During this period, diversification of work activities will be carried out so as to ensure that the project is delivered in record time.
Attached images also indicated that the hydraulic structures of the first phase of the road has reached its 100% completion. Work has equally started on the second phase of the road with a total length of 251km.
The report further revealed that the excavation of about 130m for Road B has commenced and its concrete work will start from this week.
Appreciating the people of Igbotu for their support so far, OSOPADEC Chairman, Sam Erejuwa said his administration would ensure that all necessary materials are provided for the rapid completion of the project.
Erejuwa urged residents in the ancient town to continually cooperate with the contractor to ensure that the project progresses without any hindrance.
